Topic: School Social Worker Conference: Student Support in Today's Schools: Resources, Prevention, and Wellness for School Social Workers.  Presented by: Dr. Teneka Gash-Haywood, PhD, PLPC, RSW; Ashli Savoy-King, M.A., LPC-S, NCC; Mattie Hawkins; Kristine Russell, D.A.; Heidi Irwin, LCSW and Shannan Gros, LPC. The objectives for this conference are:  (1) To engage participants who work with students in Louisiana school systems to learn how to support our youth in the current school environment.  (2) To educate school social workers and all participants in helping roles about current issues and how to ethically and effectively address them.  (3) To teach participants practical tools and strategies of prevention and intervention of current phenomena that impacts our youth.  (4) To provide resources for social workers and other helping professions to best support students while also prioritizing their own wellness.  6.00 General CEU hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.
