The primary objectives of this brief webinar are to guide social workers to Supreme Court decisions and police policies and procedures for legislative advocacy, and police reforms that utilize social workers in emergency and nonemergency responses. Case examples illustrate application of the NASW Code of Ethics value of social justice and ethical principle which articulates that social worker challenge social injustice.   

Course Objectives:

  • examine how law enforcement is consistent and inconsistent with social justice
  • review Supreme Court decisions and police policies and procedures for legislative advocacy
  • review police reforms that utilize social workers in emergency and nonemergency responses 
  • provide case examples to illustrate application of the NASW Code of Ethics value of social justice.
